The Men of Leisure Barbershop Singers bring harmony to Willowbrook Rotary Club meeting on December 19. Music Director Bill Moring lead the 13 singers through a concert of Christmas holiday songs. Their beautiful music was much enjoyed by the Rotarians and guests gathered for this last meeting of 2008.

Amy Armstrong accepts a donation from the Willowbrook Rotary Club continuing it's support of the NAM Rotary Learning Center. Amy teaches G.E.D.classes to adults who did not get their high school diploma. NAM offers continuing education for adults and children at the Rotary Learning Center. Willowbrook Rotary Club provided the assistance necessary to establish this learning center at NAM over 10 years ago and continues to support this essential community service.

Former Rotary Scholar Paul Volcker, who served as Federal Reserve chair from 1979 to 1987 will lead a new White House economic advisory committee for U.S. President-elect Barack Obama.
The President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board will provide Obama with advice and analysis on reviving the economy and stabilizing the financial markets. The panel is comprised of officials from a variety of business sectors.
Volcker, who was sponsored by RI District 7490 (New Jersey, USA), studied at the London School of Economics in 1951-52.

has put 20,000 items from its archives into a new online collection.
The
online archives
feature photos, correspondence, and other writings from VIP members like Paul Harris, Chesley Perry, and Silvester Schiele; minutes of board of directors meetings dating back to 1920; a scrapbook assembled by Perry; a collection of documents about women of Rotary from 1921 to 1995; and other important records such as bylaws and early newsletters.
